heńłeʔ nskʷest Mindy Garcia tuł he LNIB. Hello, my name is Mindy Garcia, I am from the Lower Nicola Indian Band. I was born in Campbell River and moved to Merritt in 1999 to be closer to family. I am in the HVC Employment Coordinator.
I am passionate about hunting, fishing, and gathering and love being out on the land. On weekends, I enjoy spending time with my daughter Hunter Rain and being with family. Together we enjoy bonfires, road trips and fishing. A fun fact about me is that I love to mechanic on my own vehicles, and I have an associate’s degree in criminology.
I'm excited to learn new skills and I'm looking forward to meeting new people.
My parents are Frank and Cathy Garcia from Kanaka Bar and Lower Nicola Indian Band. I have appreciated getting to know my nłeʔképmx culture and traditions. I worked at Highland Valley Copper Mine for 5.5 years as a haul truck operator and mill operator. If you have any questions on employment and training, please feel free to contact me anytime. On weekends, I enjoy crocheting, and video games with my wife.
I am currently enrolled in the nłeʔképmx Language Fluency Program. I plan on continuing my language journey and my goal is to become a fluent speaker.
